Sarah Gans

I’m Sarah, and I’m a medical student from Woodbridge, CT. I can’t wait to get out of the library and on to the road! This will be my first long-distance trip, but I loved being an urban biker when I lived in the city. I’m also excited to also taste my way across the ice cream spots of the northern tier, and figure out new ways to fuel myself on peanut butter and jerky– all while raising money for the athletes at the Adaptive Sports Program at the Hospital for Special Care!
Kelly Jones

My name is Kelly and I am a first year dental student at the University of Connecticut. I was born and raised in the small, suburban town of Darien, CT. I graduated from Darien High School in 2015 and went on to complete a bachelors of science in Chemistry at Emory University, in 2019. I have never done something as physically demanding as what we will be accomplishing this summer. Admittedly, I am a little nervous of the task at hand and it is for this reason that I am incredibly excited to see just how far we will go!
Mary Kate Kosciusko

I’m Mary Kate and I am a first year medical student from Cornwall, CT. I went to the George Washington University for my undergraduate degree in international affairs and was fortunate enough to end up back in Connecticut to attend UConn for medical school. I love any and all activities outside and always dreamed of thru-hiking the Appalachian Trail. So when I learned about UConn’s annual bike trip, I knew immediately I had to participate. While imagining the incredible places we’ll get to on our bikes is exciting, I’m even more motivated by the cause we have chosen to fundraise for. It is such a privilege to raise money for the Adaptive Sports Program and I hope we can help enable current participants to one day follow our path across the country.
Talia Staiger

I’m Talia and I’m a dental student from Cromwell, CT. I went to UConn for college, where I did cross country and track, which I loved. I’m excited to bike across the country because it combines three of my favorite things: exercise, being outdoors, and my new friends from dental school! And of course, I’m so excited to raise money for an incredible cause as well.
