What a fun and relaxing day today! We slept well on Caroline’s cushy grass in her yard and she treated us to a nice, wholesome breakfast of Cheerios, nature valley bars, bananas and peanut butter. She biked with us to Walden Pond, and the five of us wanted to stop at a cute coffee shop in Concord but sadly they were all closed. I had a zoom at 10 which conveniently lined up with when we arrived at Walden, so everyone patiently waited for me and gazed out at the pond. It was beautiful! Lots of open water swimmers which I loved to see.

After a while at the pond we parted ways with Caroline. It really was so amazing to meet her and become friends with her! We traveled over some rolling hills that were sneakily a bit hard! But soon we made it to the minute man bike trail, which was pleasant. We had a snack break and gave Sarah’s friend J.D. our lunch orders for him to pick up for us when we met him in Boston. Once we got off the bike path, Sarah led us to her old stomping grounds from her two years working in Boston prior to med school. It was really cool to bike in a city! They had a little bike lane which was convenient.
Our picnic with J.D. was wonderful. We got food from a place called Life Alive, which makes fresh healthy bowls. It was just what we needed! We biked back to J.D.’s current house/Sarah’s old house, and I immediately fell asleep on the couch, as I hadn’t had any coffee that day and apparently I need it to function. Everyone showered and MK went to the bike shop before I woke up. Sarah thankfully made me an iced coffee which brought me more back to life with every sip. After I showered, the four of us biked to Trader Joe’s and got a haul of new snack food and dinner supplies for that night. We then biked to the Espanade (not really sure how to spell that? I’m not a Bostoner?) for our picnic that we invited out Boston area friends to. Interestingly, Mary Kate bumped into her cousin Adam on our way there! We stopped to chat with him for a few minutes. What a funny coincidence!

The Espanade is a beautiful place next to the Charles that has lots of paved trails to run and lots of geese. It started raining once we got there, so we took shelter under a tree, which I climbed as soon as we parked our bikes. We devoured a bag of chips and salsa as we waited for the rain to pass. Soon, one of my best friends, Nikki, was there, with more Trader Joe’s treats! It was so amazing to see her. Some of Sarah’s friends came too, and we all enjoyed our Trader Joe’s haul and each other’s company.

We had a beautiful day today in Sarah’s old home and we are so, so excited for our trip to Providenicetown/Cape Cod tomorrow! Sarah Fuller we are coming for you!!
